Jam-Packed Friday

Sorry I am not posting until now… We had a busier Friday than anticipated… I got stuck at work later that I thought… We were in the city longer than expected, before we left I had a chocolate chip Cliff Bar (i ate the whole thing this time because those tiny wraps were NOT filling!)

We didn’t get to the gym until around 5:30… I got a great workout in of running & upper body weights, although I definitely think I will be sore in the next couple of days as a result… Afterwards, Bill and I headed to Saladworks, we were both STARVING and it was only across the street!  I got the Newport Salad (romaine lettuce, flaked tuna, olives, eggs w/o yolk, and tomatoes) w/ balsamic dressing and about 3/4 of the wheat roll… it really hit the spot…

We also took a quick stop into GNC where I found LARABARS!  They only had one flavor, cashew cookie, so I am SO excited to finally try one out ;)   Hope your fridays were terrific!

  1. Congrats on finding larabars!! That’s so sad they only have one flavor, but it’s a really good one. =) Maybe if you request them they can bring more in?

OK, major question: Quite some time ago when I was at an intense tennis camp (we’d play outside for 7 hours each day with two breaks…not including runs/sprints/matches, etc…CRAZY!) they’d make us eat clif bars! One in the morning and half at one break, half at another break, etc, etc. We always DREADED them though bc they tasted like rubber and frankly, they had the appearance of dog poo! But all of the blog beauties RAVE about how yummy they are! Have they changed over the years or something?! I’ve yet to try one since and it’s been around 5 years!

    (PPS) That clifbar doesn’t look like ours did! Yours looks DELISH and packed raisins!

  3. Romina ~ Good idea :) I’m glad it’s a good flavor, I remember reading good things about cashew on the blogs, I will definitely try to request some more ;)

    Julz ~ Well, I’ll give you my background on Cliff Bars… I tried them several years ago when I was doing a long distance bike ride, they handed them out and I almost gagged… A few months ago, I saw a lot of ppl on blogs posting about how great they were, so I tried to give it a try… I picked up several flavors (oatmeal raisin walnut, chocolate chip, pb chocolate, pb crunch) and I loved all of them!!!! My only bad experience is the banana one though and I couldn’t stomach it, I had to throw it out after a bite or two… I dont know if they changed or if my taste buds just changed, but I really love them and they are great fuel before a workout(not to mention you can understand each of the ingredients!)… I also like the Cliff Z Bars (kid ones) in pb & brownie b/c they are more portion controlled! Saladworks is awesome isn’t it :) Oh and they weren’t raisins, they were chocolate chips!!
