Monkey Shake & Crunch
Sorry this post is so short, but I am about to head out the door to meet my group for school… Luckily, Bill is in my class, so we are going to head over together and then probably make something for dinner & lay low tonight!
For my on-the-go lunch, I made a smoothie! I haven’t made or had a smoothie since last summer, so given that we have near 70 degree weather today (although muggy & gloomy), I thought it was appropriate… I started with 1/2 scoop chocolate whey, a banana, 5 ice cubes, 1/2 cup cottage cheese (had to use it up before it went bad!), 1 tbsp crunchy pb, and 1/2 cup almond milk for creaminess… It turned out pretty well, I think next time maybe I’d use more ice cubes for more volume… it made about 16 oz (this container is 32 oz)… however, I just realized I don’t have a straw (which totally takes away from the fun of eating it)… I’m hoping I can sneak in the school cafeteria & grab one! I also packed 1 cup of Kashi Go Lean… Even though my family makes fun of me that I am a “Kashi”, I never had this kind before… I always buy the Crunch version, but saw the nutritionals calorie-wise are a little better, plus I have issues with the Kashi Go Lean Crunch (too addicting!!!)
Ok, well off to school now… have a fantastic Saturday… hope you are doing something much more fun than me (at school!)… hehe…

i personally love kashi go lean, and I’m not a fan of the “crunch!” varieties, so hopefully you like this one, too
Good luck with the group work, hope it goes by quickly
I hope you like the regular GoLean–it is by far my fave cereal!! My family makes fun of me when I eat it though, saying that is looks like kitty litter…
Oh my goodness! It’s been a while since you’ve had a smoothie, they’re so satisfying. =)
Wow, you haven’t had a smoothie in that long?!?!?! It’s about time, then!! haha. I drink one every single day (as do my parents, haha)!! I have QUITE a few favorite smoothie-combinations :0)
I used to eat the regular Kashi Go Lean – not bad! Hope you like it.
School on a Saturday? Eek! Hope you won’t be there for too long, so that you can enjoy a proper weekend!
i’m heading out the door to school too! boo but yay for gettin’ it done! I haven’t had a smoothie in that long either…but you got me wanting to make one !
It’s been so beautiful here, weather-wise. I’ve been having smoothies for breakfast almost every day. It’s hard to sit and eat a bowl of hot oatmeal when its almost 90 degrees! How was the cottage cheese in your smoothie? I never thought of adding it, usually just plain yogurt.
I have that container!! LOL I bought it thinking it would be perfect for shakes and smoothies.. but it’s too dang big!
Haha odd one out – I hate kashi golean. And golean crunch. The only cereal of theirs I really like is Vive
I wish I could send you my opened, one serving eaten, box.. but it’s way stale.. and that would be weird anyways!
hk ~ I loved it actually, reminded me kind of like Fiber One but better!
Caroline </b ~ LOL, too funny your fam makes fun of you too… Bill asked me if I was eating bird seed today
Romina ~ This one was really good… I need to make them more often!
VeggieGirl ~ I know, weird huh? I get cold so easily, so making a smoothie would just make me cold.. However, now that the weather is nice, they are definitely mandatory!
creatingadiva ~ Aww, sorry to hear you had to go to school today too… Hope you got done early
RealFood4Us ~ 90 degrees??? I’m jealous! It is barely 70 here and I feel like its summer
The cottage cheese was pretty good… it had a different consistency, almost creamier… love your blog btw!
runroamrecycle HAHA… I picked it up at Target the other day… It is a tad big, however I’m used to toting around the taller 32 oz one… you should have seen me w/ both my tall water bottle and the shorter one w/ the smoothie in it today ha… Wow, I wish I could resist Kashi Go Lean Crunch! I have to try the vive, never had that one!!! LOL about sending me the stale box hehe
just found you through HEALTH ASHLEY.
off to print and try the shake recipe!
