Settling Down

April 27, 2008

Well the craziness of the last 24 hours has finally settled down… Sorry for the almost 24 hr delay in posting… I actually tried posting last night but then our internet went down, so I figured I’d save it for tonight instead of messing with the frustrating internet…

Yesterday was A TON of fun… I haven’t had a Saturday that didn’t involve schoolwork since before I even started my undergrad degree, so it was SO nice to have a free day… I am really going to enjoy this no-school thing… My mom and I headed to the dress shop where I got to see my dress and have my first fitting… It fit almost perfectly, but they did have to do some minor alterations with taking parts of it in, but nothing major… I can’t wait for the next fitting which will be a little over two months away, I’m sure it will be here before I know it though!  Afterwards, my mom and I headed to a relatively new shopping center (Julz knows where this is at!) and had lunch @ PF Chang’s… it was our first time there so I decided to try something new… tofu… since I’ve never had it before and I read all of my fellow blogger’s yummy sounding (and looking) recipes… We also ordered a side of steamed spinach & a shrimp/snow peas dish… It was AWESOME… I LOVED TOFU… and so did my mom… we even brought the leftovers home and my dad enjoyed the tofu too… We were shocked :)   They had the most awesome dipping sauce there that was the perfect blend of chili peppers, mustard, and vinegar… I dipped everything into it… Here’s my dishes:

We shopped for a bit after lunch and also got some tea @ the Starbucks there… It was a fun time… I got home and then I had to rush out with Bill to our friends’ house for the surprise party… he was definitely surprised, it was great!  There was a ton of food but I definitely forgot to photograph!  I had some samplings of dips (pizza dip, veggie dip), some triscuits, some mini pretzels, a burger, pasta salad, and a bunch of the mini muffins I baked (which were a HUGE hit by the way)… I definitely overate on Saturday, but I always realize that tomorrow is another day, which is probably why I don’t have too much of an appetite today… However, I did take a picture of the awesome Las Vegas themed cake they had:

This morning, I was definitely running late getting to the hair trial so I just grabbed some Cheerios & a plain coffee from Wawa…

My mom, my bridesmaid Anna, and I all got our hair done… The hairstylist is AWESOME… She was SO quick (I was wondering how she was going to do me+6bridesmaids+mom all in one morning for the wedding, but now I know how!), perfect, friendly, AND funny… I can’t wait for her to do our hair for the wedding :)

And finally, I just ate lunch now which was a pb&j on a toasted wheat hamburger roll because I discovered that our 100% whole wheat bread has HFCS (ARGH!!!!!) in it… the roll was a nice change though, so I guess I can’t complain… I also had two clementines with it…

Now I am off to clean & do some homework so I can rest up early tonight… even though I didn’t drink last night, I feel like I did since it was a late night for me… I definitely need some extra sleep tonight!

Be back for dinner ~ happy Sunday!

You were all over the place, man, sounds like a blast!! I want pictures here, too!

I’m so glad you decided to try out tofu, it’s great stuff.

Don’t you hate how they put HFCS in everything? Sure it’s cheaper for them, but the consequences are worse than spending some dough, companies!

Is that the coconut curry tofu from PF Changs? I had that last time I went and it was soooo good! Lat time I went it was with my bf and his brother in law…so unfortunately the only healthyish thing on the table was what i ordered.
