Overate?

April 29, 2008

Today is definitely not going as fast as yesterday, but I’m almost halfway through my short workweek, so I’m trying to be optimistic… it almost feels like a Monday to me, I guess I reversed the days!

The breakfast bulgur held me over AMAZINGLY well, I can’t get over it… I was a little skeptical since the serving size is half of what oatmeal is… I still needed my mid-am snack, but not until 10am (ate at 5:45am)! I had a cottage cheese with 1/4 cup of Kashi Go Lean. If you can’t tell, adding Kashi to cottage cheese or yogurt is my new favorite snack combination!

Since it’s a little damp and semi-dreary today, I thought a soup & Sandwich combination would be best & filling. Well, this lunch didn’t dissapoint. I had 1 cup of Amy’s Black Bean soup (oh how I missed you!) and tuna, dijon mustard, & spinach on a wheat english muffin… I am SO full that I feel like I overate… However, I did the quick calorie math in my head and figured out my lunch was around 300 calories, not a lot… but I’m guessing I feel that way from the fiber from both the soup & the english muffin…

Ok, well it’s back to work… I wanted to ask you all: What are your favorite on the go snack combinations (so I can get some ideas for our long car ride on Friday!)?

Last time I went on a long plane ride I brought a bag of almonds, chocolate chips and Kashi Heart2Heart cereal – delicious!

Clif ZBars or Gnu bars are always another great choice :)

That’s fantastic! I really could’ve used a 4 hour tide for breakfast this morning.

My favorite on-the go snack is a smoothie, larabars, granola bars, dried fruit, nuts, dry cereal. Mm, anything really!
