Consolidated

May 14, 2008

Despite the week dragging by so far, today’s flying… I was trapped in meetings all morning and have lots and lots of work to get done now! However, I did take a quick break to eat and go for a stroll around our building, I love when I get to take a breather outside on a sunshiny day ;)

I was strapped for time and decided to consolidate my food in one picture, simply because I had nothing glamourous for lunch today and it’s all food that you have seen pretty recently, as in this week! I’m a creature of habit, as I repeatedly say…

This morning I had strawberries (2 servings already!) and cottage cheese… nothing new there… For lunch, I had a Healthy Choice “Steamers” chicken margherita frozen meal that I bought from the grocery store a while back, in a moment of weakness (not really but I try to avoid frozen meals as much as possible), and knew I needed to use it up before it went bad… I dont know, do frozen meals go bad? *** EDITED: I meant this to be a funny/sarcastic comment, as in they are frozen and processed and probably are just as bad for you no matter the date; however I am really bad in telling jokes (as you can see) and typed this post in a rush, so I didn’t really think it through :) *** Anyway, I wasn’t expecting much, but it was actually pretty good… Granted, I’m sure it would have been better if it was homemade, but in a pinch it was yummy… I especially liked the fact that you could control how much balsamic vinagrette sauce you wanted to put on it (I used about half), since it was contained in the “steamer” bowl… I’m pretty sure I didn’t follow the instructions with that because it said not to vent the plastic wrap and I did… and then I wound up dumping everything on a plate, eliminating the need to use the steamer contraption… It also had nice chunks of roasted garlic in it, too… I guess that means I need some gum!

And of course, mid afternoon, I’ll be looking forward to a Clif Z bar for a energy boost :)

By the way, for those of you DD iced coffee fans, tomorrow they are giving them away freeeeee from 10am – 10pm… I think I’ll need to build this into my day, somehow!

Yeah, today IS flying by!! Craziness. Good luck with the rest of work!

Can’t go wrong with eating an abundance of strawberries – yum!

It’s always best to just abide by the “use by” date on the packages of frozen food, to be safe.

I’ve actually heard from my sister (who lives off of frozen meals – she hates to cook, weird!) that those steamer ones are okay. No idea if they go bad… odd thought.

I know, it sucks because I actually really, really like frozen meals like that! I LIVED off them when I lost my weight on WW! But yeah, not the best option but it’s nice because they’re portion controlled, convenient, etc :)

VeggieGirl ~ It definitely did fly by!!! Thanks for the tip!

Jill ~ Yeah I was pretty impressed with them, however I should have looked through the nutr. info but I was too scared to read what I might find :)

Melissa ~ awww I was actually the same way, when I lost weight a few years ago, I literally lived off Lean Cuisines!! However, it’s good to know that we learned how to eat fresh, healthy foods and worst case we can turn to them in mini “emergencies”… plus Kashi makes some pretty good ones too with ingredients you can understand!

hannah ~ hehe, I need to find the closest DD by my work and schedule a trip in at lunch!
