Mini Announcement ~ Chocolate Covered Vegan’s recent post kind of struck a cord with me in that I’m desperately trying to comment on every single one of the FANTASTIC blogs that I read; however, it’s become like a mini job at times, so instead, I am adding a page called my “blog roll” to reflect all of my favorite blogs & modifying my existing blogroll since it was REALLY out of date… I’m still going to read all of your blogs (and still comment just not in lightning speed as before), thanks to the lovely GoogleReader, but my comments will probably be diminishing, so know that I am still there and “lurking” (sorry, had to swipe this phrase from CCV!) and enjoying your posts!
Now, onto the food… This afternoon, I had a frozen banana as a treat… At lunchtime, I threw the banana in the freezer at work for about 2 hours… When I took it out, it was nice, cold, and frozen (make sure you unpeel it first!)… pretty similar texture to my “PB Goondess” recipe except it wasn’t mashed & I didn’t have any peanut butter on hand… I really need to try the Justin’s Organic PB Packets… Anyone try these? I think they might be perfect for keeping at work or in my purse! I can’t find them in the stores around here, so I may need to get them online… After eating this, I started to get ravenous! I guess I got lucky w/ the apple this morning, so I munched on a small handful of raisins & almonds… glad I had this in my purse – yum!
Dinner was… steak, green peppers, spicy cherry peppers, & sweet peppers on a whole grain focaccia roll…
Then it was off to the gym… Since the big bike ride is almost a month away, I’m trying to devote myself to biking more… which means that tonight I did spinning… the teacher was ehhhhh and I knew that going into the class but I tried to push myself and make my own workout out of it! I burned 410 calories, so it wasn’t too bad
When I got home, I did some 8 min. abs… Now I’m off to shower, grab a snack (which I’ll post later) & try to get some wedding stuff done… Since school is over, now I can actually focus on the wedding plans!
**EDITED TO ADD THIS JUICY GRAPEFRUIT AS A PM SNACK:

I can relate. I used to subscribe to 200 or so blogs, and whenever I’d get home from school there were at least 60 updates! It took WAY too long to get through everyone’s. I’ve cut it back to about 70 or 80, but it’s still too much. I love commenting and reading, but I also find that many people don’t return the favor, so my list grows shorter and shorter or I find myself commenting less for people who don’t return the favor.
Wow, 410 calories in a workout?! That’s incredible!
Romina ~ I know, that is exactly how I feel… I love both but it’s just tough to physically fit in all the blogs I love
I commend you because I always see you commenting on everyone’s posts!!! Hehe, that’s why i LOVE spinning!
I’m really really glad to know I’m not the only one who’s been feeling overwhelmed, especially since YOU are one of the bloggers I always admired/wondered “How does she do it and not get overwhelmed!?”
I’ve never tried those pb packets, but I did just buy Justin maple alomnd butter today, so I’m excited to try that.
Yep, it does get hard trying to comment on everyone’s blogs – no worries, though, I still love and read yours! :0)
Enjoy the rest of your Monday!
No worries about the commenting!!
I’ve never had a frozen banana before – I’m intrigued
I have yet to try those packets, but they sound like a really great idea – it would certainly keep me from going back to the PB jar
ChocolateCoveredVegan ~ hehe, your post definitely made me feel better too, so I appreciate the honesty! Oooo let me know how you like the almond butter! I really want to try it!
VeggieGirl ~ Aww thanks, right back at ya!
Jenn ~ It’s delish… I want to try those packets!
I carry fruit in my purse too! It’s the best snack when you are hungry, but don’t want to spend money or eat junky food!
Yes, I have bought the Justin’s PB – not only is it very good, but it’s pretty convenient , and no hydrogenation. I recently took a trip and used it to keep my blood sugars from dropping too low in the event of a delayed meal – worked like a charm! (I found it at Sprouts and maybe Whole Foods, but I actually bought mine online)
You will find, though, that in order to get ALL the pb out of the packet, you’ll want to cut it open and scrape it all out. You may not DO it, but you’ll WANT to
I understand completely with you and CCV. There are quite a few blogs I enjoy, but its hard to keep up and sometimes I just have nothing to say but feel like I should say something…and with my new schedule it will be really tough!
I need to get google reader….
Don’t feel bad about not being able to comment. I completely understand! It’s very time consuming to keep up with all the blogs (even though I’m addicted to all!)
I completely agree and understand with the blogging stuff as well! Especially with how crazy busy I am at work lately, and how late I get home – there’s just not always enough time!
NO worries about anything!
I completely understand everything you mentioned about the blogs and commenting. I had a longer explanation of CCV’s blog but I agree with you, it’s tough, and I hate feeling guilty about not being able to let everyone know that I read their blog daily but that’s life. We all love catching up with yours and I appreciate knowing that you visit mine sometimes too
. Less comments make it more special!
Oh man thanks for the idea for the frozen banana. I forgot about that. Sounds amazing right now!
I definitely understand if you can’t comment everyday, but know I appreciate every comment and smile each time
I need to get back into the commenting. Things have been too crazy. But now I am back in action!
Totally agree on the blog-reading. Just FYI, I read your posts every day, I just don’t comment all the time:)
I have tried those Justin’s PB packets, and they are way convenient! I use them when I go on road trips for a portable protein/fat source. I just wish they were about half the size they are–they’re 2T, and I usually eat my nut butters 1 T at a time…oh well!
Hey, good for you for cutting back. Reading and commenting on blogs is supposed to be a fun past time, not a chore!
Frozen bananas are one of my favourite things to eat EVER. I literally eat them every day.
No worries! I get overwhelmed too… especially with working and cooking and the boyfriend and just life in general. It’s so hard to keep up. I’ll still be reading
Tina ~ I agree… especially fruit that doesn’t get bad like raisins, perfect for an “emergency”!
gharkness ~ Haha, great tip, being as how i LOVE pb, I’m sure i’ll do that..
Becca A ~ DEF get google reader, it will make life so much easier!
Monica ~ I know, I’m addicted to too many!
chandra ~ I wish there were more hrs in a day then it would be easier!
Danielle ~ Ooo i <3 your blog! Thats a great theory, less is more hehe…
Cara ~ hehe that would be a perfect snack for Texas to cool down
Caroline ~ Good, glad to know I’m not alone! I THOUGHT I saw them on your blog before but wasn’t sure… I was browsing on their site and saw they make 100 cal packs now!
Kristie ~ I think b/c I have so many good blogs I love to read, the number is slightly overwhelming
They are awesome aren’t they… and perfect in the summer!
magpie ~ hehe, thanks!
Im with the DUH ID FORGOTTEN ABOUT THAT people & the frozen banana.
I love those tiny bananas (name? I cant think of it offhand) for my Toddler and shall now commence freezing!
MizFit ~ Hehe, I TOTALLY forgot about it too until I had a new reader comment on it from an older post… Can’t believe I let that yummy treat out of my memory! Hmmm, I can’t remember the name of them either, but I know what you’re referring to!
I heara ya! That is EXACTLY the problem I’ve been having lately! I had to physically make myself not always comment, even though I basically read everyone’s blog from my blogroll every single day! I feel bad but you have to get to that point, or it takes SO much time!
Wedding plans! That must be so exciting.
I am going to try your frozen banana today or tomorrow (I’ve got one in the freezer as we speak!). And steak sandwiches are SO good.
Melissa ~ I know, there are too many good blogs out there!
Sagan ~ It is but overwhelming too!
I’m getting ready to enjoy a frozen banana too!
