Spontaneous

June 16, 2008

This afternoon, as a mid morning snack, I had a half of an Honest Food Apple Ginger Spice Country Square…  The description is:

Country Apples and spicy Ginger are baked with Raisins, Walnuts, Almond Halves, and the great taste of Almond Butter for this fresh from the oven tasty square

As far as nutritionals are concerned, my half serving came out to:  120 calories, 4.5 g fat, 2g fiber, 3 g of protein… not too shabby!  As far as taste goes, well this gets an A in my book… I really felt like I was eating Apple Crisp… It was perfectly chewy, sweet, and hearty.. I love food where you can taste the whole grains (probably why I like oats) so this definitely falls into that category… I really wanted to eat the whole bar, but I made myself stop since it was only meant to be a tiny snack :)

Dinner tonight was pretty spontaneous… since it was my mom’s birthday, we didn’t want her to have to cook, plus I couldn’t cook since I was at work longer than anticipated, so my parents picked up Olive Garden to-go for dinner… We had what we ALWAYS get when we order from there… ww cappelini pomodoro & of course a salad… Our dinner discussion involved how our salad was lacking in nutrients due to the use of iceberg lettuce… you can tell that nutrition has been on our minds!

After dinner, I bolted off to 6:45 spinning and got a good class in… I also got a quick ab session in using the machines…

Now I’m going to go relax & have the other half of my Country Square bar!
