Blueberry Abundance

July 23, 2008

Before I move on to today’s breakfast, I should add that last night I ate the rest of my Strawberry Rice Dream, probably 1.5 servings… AND I ate it out of the container… well, because there was only a little left and I thought it would be more environmentally friendly than wasting a bowl hehe…

This morning was a bowl of fantastic blueberry oats topped with flax and chopped walnuts, cooked on 50% power for 3 minutes… this breakfast never seems to fail me in terms of taste expectations…

You will be seeing lots of blueberries the next few days simply b/c it’s the only fruit (besides apples) that is left in my house… I am planning a much-needed, critical fruit/veggie shopping trip for Friday after work!

Mid-morning, I was in a pinch for a snack so I had a packet of Quaker Apple & Cinnamon instant oats to tide me over until lunch… Honestly, this is one of my favorite go-to, emergency snacks b/c it’s easily portable & filling!

What are some of your favorite portable on-the-go snacks?

Back in a bit w/ the lunchy-eats… I have a new product to try so I can’t wait!

I love eating the last bit of anything out of the container. It feels like such a guilty pleasure:)

I love apples and chopped veggies and some almonds in a ziplock as my portable snacks. So good.

at my desk you can usually find….
    -kashi tlc bars
-baggies of roasted almonds + raisins
    -single serving popcorn bags
-larabars (i ate 1/2 at a time bc i think they are reallly sweet)

and sometimes i leave baby carrots and extra fruit in the fridge to eat for the week.

    have a great day!

My two on the go snacks are Clif Bars and homemade trail mix (nuts, maybe some cereal, dried fruit, edamame and chocolate chips.)

I almost always have an emergency Clif bar with me and if I know I have a long day ahead of me, I will pack the trail mix–’just in case’

I have a serious blueberries-going-bad issue I need to take care of as well… Except photos on my blog too :)

My favorite on the go snack are Kath’s Oatmeal Bars… but when I don’t feel like baking, a Kashi TLC bar has never let me down.

In terms of oatmeal, I started trying to make sure I was buying versions with more fiber and protein. I like Kashi and some of the store version low sugar brands.

Also a fan of the kashi bar, taking apples with me in the car and beef jerky actually.
