Monday Night Eats

After showering and relaxing a bit, my hunger was in full force, so I probably should have eaten something immediately after the gym like I normally do…

I wanted something with a protein punch… if you haven’t noticed I’m really trying to cut back on the white, processed sugary foods and focus on eating whole grains & healthy proteins… This was a little over half a cup of Breyer’s Double Churned Neapolitan ice cream… topped with 4 cut-up strawberries… and the star of the show, a jam-packed teaspoon of Crazy Richard’s Chunky PB…

So, you thought that would have satisfied me right?  But an hour later my stomach was grumbling and after chugging a massive amount of water, I was still hungry so I decided to enjoy a Clif Z Bar, peanut butter flavor… I haven’t had one of these in a while and missed them so much, so I picked up a box yesterday at lunch so we could snack on them this weekend at the shore… I hope I don’t eat the whole box before then!

    sometimes there’s just nothing you can do to tame post-workout hunger! your food looks fantastic though and not unhealthy :)

    Hi – Just found your blog and it’s great! I see that you are in/near Philly and are getting married in Cape May in September! I was born and raised in Avalon and have tons of extended family in the Philly area. Oh, and my husband and I were married in Avalon 10 years ago September :) Great time for a wedding “down the shore!”

    Megan ~ Oh wow – how exciting~ it’s such a small world isn’t it haha… I’m assuming you guys had nice weather, that is the one thing I am worrying about :)

    ashley ~ hehe, believe me I never had this much self control until recently… I find that adding fruit is a nice healthy way to add volume!

    Hello! I just came upon your blog and I love your recipes…will have to try them (all?). And….why didn’t I think of PB with ice cream? I mean, that’s only mixing, like, the best 2 foods in the whole world. :-) I’ve never tried that kind of PB but will look for it – I’ve yet to have a PB that I didn’t like.

    I had the late night post evening workout munchies last night too!!! That Z-Bar looks fabulous. Wish I would have had one of those last night!
