Well, my weekend was off to a good start… my dad and I left work and picked up Panera for dinner ~ my mom was very happy with our selection!
I had the “you pick 2″ option with the turkey chickpea chili and the strawberry salad… It was delicious & I highly recommend this combination (or the veggie black bean) if you are making a trip to Panera Bread any time in the near future! I think the pictures say it all…
A view from the top of my soup
This is what I was pleasantly greeted with for my last few spoonfuls!
My dad and I then rushed to the gym to hit the 6:45 spinning class; however the teacher was a no-show for the first 15 minutes and then she got there around 7:10… I never take this class, but apparently this is a running trend for her and the teacher doesn’t seem to care (I got that impression after someone confronted her about it)… kind of rude in my opinion! So I had some high hopes because when she got on the bike she said I’m late, but I’m still going to give you a great workout… ok, sounds good… Well, let me tell you, it was HONESTLY…
the worst class EVER!
i mean just her form alone was very bad ~ she was leaning on the bike handles while we were supposed to be squatting on the bike… isn’t the whole point to use your legs and not rest your wait on the front of the bike?! Then her sprints, well, I was joking with my dad that he was sprinting 10 times faster than her… she really looked like she was pedaling around the neighborhood… And on top of all that, every song she played had relatively no beat and sounded exactly the same… it was completely un-motivating… and she also opted to NOT use the microphone which was seriously frustrating… Anyway, I apologize for the vent because I was seriously irritated that my gym would pay a teacher for this class… I was not alone in my thoughts either, because believe me, I’m not usually this harsh, but when we left everyone was complaining! Ay yi yi
Ok, now I’m done my vent… As a post-workout treat, I had a Pure Protein bar in chocolate peanut butter flavor… I actually enjoyed this flavor but was skeptical about it since I keep hearing how yummy the marshmallow flavor is, but this one didn’t disappoint either
Now I am off to pack for our weekend in Cape May (where we are applying for our marriage license and getting our engagement photos done)… hopefully I’ll get a little bit of downtime before bed…
PS… While doing laundry, I decided to make some blueberry muffins (using a Hodgson Mill corn muffin mix & my stash of blueberries), so that my family can enjoy them this weekend while I’m away! Here’s a crappy cell phone pic ~ camera battery was charging! I also ate one and now I’m REALLY full :/
We are leaving at the crack of dawn tomorrow (aka normal work time, at 6am I will be on the road, so breakfast may be portable, we’ll see), so this will be my last post until Sunday when I return, so I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and I’ll miss the blogging world (no wireless internet where we are staying at, by the way!)!!!!!!!!

That class sounds horrible. Yick. But those muffins are amazing. Muffins are possibly the greatest carb of all time. My favorites are the ones that have the extra sprinkling of sugar on top. aaaaah.
OMG I am so excited about your engagement photos! All you workouts, oats, and healthy snacks will certainly pay off when you reveal glowing skin in the pictures!

SO fresh and comforting, like blueberry muffins hot out of the oven! Heated up over oatmeal, or heated up and by itself, I’m sure this baby would be UNREAL!!!! MmmMm! I knew I had to share this with ma girl

I have never had that soup at Panera, but I think I’ll try it next time.
I think it’s interesting that Panera gets the rep. of being a “diet disaster” sometimes, but you always make healthy choices. Good for you. I try really hard, but often get the little mufffin tops they have. They are just too cute not to get, right?

ive only been to panera once and i almost had a heart attack because there were so many choices. I dont like having to make a food decision so fast like that: i need atleast 20 minutes.

Too bad about the class- the instructor has the power to make a class wonderful or terrible!
Hope you have a really great weekend:)

Hey lady!
I hope your engagement photos go well this weekend!
As for the instructor, do you guys have suggestion box at your gym? If so, you should put a note in there about the instructor. If you do not, do you know who the head instructor is? If you do, talk to her and let her know whats going on (either in person or call the gym). Honestly a lot of the time head instructors do not know if there instructors are on time or if they’re doing a good job (because they can’t be there to supervise every class!). She will probably want to know that this instructor is not taking her job seriously!

Oh my gosh that sounds like such a brutal class! I would be completely ticked off too, that’s a let down for everyone.
I totally want that soup though. Thick chunky soups are awesome.

Ohh i love panera and no soup/salad combo is complete without the whole grain baguette! I wanted to try the chickpea soup because I usually get the black bean with the strawberry salad. Recently I tried to hummus sandwhich but switched it to multi grain baguette ( i am slightly obsessed with it) and it was soo good you should def try it next time!

I understand the vent! Having a good teacher is really important in getting a good workout in a class!
But the protein bar [chocolate and PB <3] and muffins look soooo good!
Have a wonderful weekend

HangryPants ~ I always see them and want to get them, the muffin tops are too cute!
Erica ~ Unfortunately, my gym is too commercialized (LA Fitness) and not open to suggestions (argh!)… I asked the gym manager about that teacher and they basically just said sorry we dont know what her deal is but we can’t do anything about it… so my only option is to NOT do spinning at that time on thursdays because all of the other teachers are great… thanks for your suggestion!!!!
Christie ~ I am a huge fan of the whole grain baguette, I just was in the mood for an apple as the side choice so I could munch on it later
