The Wedding Food!

September 13, 2008

Today is the BIG DAY!!!  Since I pre-scheduled this post on Wednesday, I’m really hoping that by the time you are all reading this, it is a sunny day in Cape May so that we can have our dream beach wedding! Worst case, if it is raining, we will have our ceremony indoors, but let’s hope not… I’m praying & keeping my fingers crossed!!! Either way I know today will be a beautiful day and I cannot believe that the big day is finally here! Growing up, you always dream about your wedding day, but at the same time, I really can’t believe it’s happening :)

Although I can’t show you any real wedding food yet, since the big day is just getting underway TODAY!!!!, I can show you our taste-testing pictures… We did our taste-testing back in November, which was even before I started this blog! That idea alone seems crazy to me because I’ve been blogging for only 6 months, but it feels like I’ve been blogging forever :) Here is a sampling of SOME (not all) of the food that will be enjoyed at our wedding…

Our menu is as follows:

  • H’or dourves: International Cheese, Gourmet Crackers, Garden Fresh Crudite; French Bread & Dip; Coconut Shrimp (I’m not a fan, but Bill loves these!); Scallops Wrapped in Bacon; Miniature Crab Cakes; Chicken Satay; European Collection – Puff pastry filled with seafood, meat, vegetables & imported cheeses; Salmon Canapés
  • First Course – Sliced Fresh Fruit & Berries
  • Second Course – Fresh Garden Greens Salad served with warm bakery rolls

  • Entrée Choices
    • Cape May Crab Cakes
    • Sliced Roast Tenderloin of Beef with Bordelaise Sauce
    • Pasta Primavera
  • Dessert – Ice Cream Bon-Bons (shown below) served with the Wedding Cake & a Cape May Sweet Treats Tray on each table (chocolate covered strawberries, homemade fudge, and salt water taffy)
