National Oatmeal Month
Since it’s National Oatmeal Month, I figured it was the perfect time to share with you all a new product having to do with OATS!
I know it’s night now, but maybe my night time post will get you excited about breakfast tomorrow? I already know that as I’m typing this, I’m looking forward to my daily bowl of oats first thing tomorrow morning
I had the opportunity to review a new product called “Coach’s Oats“… my first thought was that I loved the name… after reading through the company’s website, seemed like a pretty wholesome company as well with great values. The basic premise of this product is that it promises the great steel-cut texture of oats but “without the wait”… One of the big reasons why I don’t eat steel cut oats on a normal basis is definitely because of the time needed to prepare them, so I was pretty excited to try this product out…
I loved how the oats were packaged when I received them, in little prepackaged bags. I don’t believe they sell them like this but I did appreciate the packaging that I received…
When I was about to prep the oats, I realized I had a near empty pb jar… so I decided that this was the perfect vehicle to enjoy my Coach’s Oats…
Well, the packaging for the oats, said it would take about 3 minutes at 70% power… I think my microwave is stronger than most because after about 2 minutes and 15 seconds, my oats were done… I kept them simple and cooked them with water and added half a sliced banana…
Yum ~ doesn’t that make you want to dive right in? I wish I had another jar to look forward to for tomorrow
My jar of peanut buttery oats was a great way to start my Saturday… I loved the texture of the oats and the fact that minimal microwaving time was needed… They had a similar taste as my regular old-fashioned oats, but they weren’t as mushy as my normal oats… It almost reminded me of a cross between old fashioned oats and cream of wheat because of how creamy they were…
I made a serving of Coach’s Oats for my hubby this morning with cinnamon and bananas…
He said that his oatmeal tasted different… in fact, his response was that “less chewing was needed”… lol… oh, what a wonderful food critic my hubby is… he definitely noticed the texture difference! Although I still like my rolled oats, I definitely liked switching it up today with Coach’s Oats… one point to make is that Coach’s Oats is only available online or in Southern California… so I probably won’t purchase this until it’s available in stores near me or on sale
Happy Oatmealin’…
